Ambassador Hassan Soroosh arrived in Vancouver for a two days visit. His excellency was welcomed by Consul General, Mohammad Salem Wahdat, Consul, Faramaz Bayani, Deputy Consul, Mohammad Razzaq Raghbat, Mr. Zahir Faqiri, and Professor Dr. Karim Qayumi at the Vancouver Airport. At this visit, he participated in an event organized by the Afghan-Canadian Association of British Columbia. Ambassador Soroosh briefed the participants about the ongoing processes in Afghanistan as well as the Embassy’s work plan and priority areas including cultural diplomacy, women’s empowerment, trade, and investment. Mr. Ahmad Ratib Rahimi, the President of the Association presented a briefing on various activities under the Association and the participants shared their views on different issues related to Afghanistan and bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Ambassador Soroosh expressed his gratitude to the Association for their efforts and stressed the importance of continued collaboration and joint activities in the future.
During the program, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Mr. Wahdat, the Afghanistan Consul General in Vancouver in recognition of his efforts in support of various activities carried out by the Afghan-Canadian community in British Columbia.
Later today, Ambassador Soroosh, will participate in an event organized by UBC and will talk about regional Cooperation and International Partnership Prospect for Peace and Stability.
