Ministr of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, Mohammad Haneef Atmar and Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Rasit Meredow have discussed bilateral relations over a telephonic conversation on 05/01/2021.

The discussion is critical to assure the commitment of both countries for close and mutual cooperation. The following project that is vital for the development of Afghanistan has been discussed:

• The Aqina Railway line from Akina to Andkhui that is constructed in the northern province of Faryab.
• Electrical Energy Project from Kerki- Andkhoi – Puli Khumri, and
• The Fiber Optic Cable line extending internet connection from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.

Mr Meredow will sing several memorandums with Afghanistan authorities on agriculture quarantine and political consultation, security, and issues related to gas and oil.
